Airbus and Boeing highlights at FIA 2018

Boeing and Airbus have received the most orders at FIA 2018 held at Farnborough, UK, last week. So we’ll take a look at their highlights.
Airbus this year received a total of 431 orders, worth around $52 billion. Most of them for the highly popular A320 family - 50 A321 NEOs for Vietjet, 25 A320 NEOs for Wataniya Airways and a lot more for many undisclosed customers.
US start-up airline Moxy Airways being launched by the founder of Jet Blue, David Neeleman, has placed an order for 60 A220s, previously known as Bombardier C-Series.
The struggling Airbus A330 NEO aircraft has received a total of 42 orders. Most of them (34) by Asian low cost carrier Air Asia X.
Also 25 A350s were ordered during the airshow. 17 for Starlux and 8 for another undisclosed customer.

Boeing claims massive 673 orders worth 82 billion US dollars. More than 80% of them for their 737 MAX family - 100 737 MAXs for an undisclosed customer, 75 aircrafts of this type for Jet Airways, 30 for Jackson Square Aviation and more for other customers. Boeing also signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Vietjet for the purchase of 100 more 737 MAX airplanes, consisting of 80 MAX 10s and 20 MAX 8s.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner received 52 orders at the airshow. 10 787-9s for Hawaiian, 15 for two yet undisclosed customers and more for other airlines.
Also a lot of freighter planes were ordered. DHL purchased 14 Boeing 777 Freighters with options for 7 more and 5 777-F planes will be delivered to Qatar Airways. Meanwhile Volga-Dnepr group signed an MOU for 29 777 freighters and ordered additional 5 747-8 freighters. Deal with Russian cargo airline is valued at 11.8 billion US dollars.

In other news Boeing expects 42,730 deliveries in upcoming 20 years, while Airbus is a bit behind with predicted 37,390 deliveries.
