Welcome to this spotting guide for the visitor terrace at Frankfurt.

--- How to get to the visitor terrace. ---
If you entered the Airport at terminal 1 you should take the Skyline (Airtrain). The signs above you will help you find the right way to the Skyline station. When you are in the Skyline you can take some nice apron shots if you are standing on the right side of the train. When you arrive at terminal 2, on your left side you can find the stairs and on your right, an escalator. You will already have seen the big McDonalds sign as soon as you got out of the train. Go to the McDonalds. When you arrive at the McDonalds, you can easily find the entrance for the terrace.
--- What you have to consider. ---
- It costs: - Dayticket 3€ ($3.70) (£2.60)
- Yearticket (365 Days) 27€ ($33.3)(23.39)
- ... and some group tickets - just look at frankfurt-airport.com
- Opening times: - Monday - Friday 10am - 6pm
- Saturday - Sunday:
-November - March: 10am - 6pm
- April - October: 10am - 7pm
- Fences: There are big fences and i don't think they will let you get in with a huge ladder. For DSLR's they made some holes BUT there are just 2 or 3 so it isn't guaranteed that you will get a view with your lens onto the apron/approach sector. If you use a little camera, like the Canon IXUS series, you can put your camera into the little columns in the fence, easily.
--- Food & Drinks ---
You can buy food and drinks at the restaurants directly at the entrance of the terrace. You're not allowed to take food or drinks onto the terrace but, if you want, you can put your food into your bag because is no security check at the terrace...
--- Spotting ---
As i already said there are some holes which you can put your camera in. With just around a 150-200mm focal length, you can get nice apron pictures. If you want to shoot the 25L arrivials, you should get a 200 - 300mm lens (Although you may need longer).
At frankfurt you will have a good variety of airlines with aircraft coming into Frankfurt from Asia, Africa, Europe and the US.
Here some apron shots:

New Lufthansa Livery from Europe (a321)

China Airlines from Asia (777)

United from the US (777)

British Airways from London Heathrow (767)
